nimsdai
my love for mountains isn’t new.
it started way before i stepped foot into the valleys of dehradun.
nimsdai isn’t only a name that we lost.
this man gave us a new perspective towards hardship, towards the impossible.
i remember seeing 14 peaks in 2022 and man, it was exhilarating.
the thrill that came with those visuals was unimaginable.
he showed me how much more life has to offer us.
i remember my first big climb. snow hitting my face, a straining migraine, a bloody nose.
but all i had to recall was his words: “giving up is not in the blood, sir.”
i was shattered beyond words when i heard we lost this gem of a person.
i pray for his family, his loved ones, and all those he inspired, just like me.
i never even met him. i didn’t have to.
that’s what these people do. they change you through a screen
and you carry it up real mountains years later.
“at least he died doing what he loved.”
a simple yet breaking line.
thank you nimsdai, for inspiring a new generation and showing us what true heroism looks like.
i’ll keep climbing. that’s the only thank you that means anything.
